The Aggiornamento Institute is a Ministry under Ram Catholic that seeks to bring respected Catholic Scholars from around the world to speak on a variety of topics that address the conflicts with today's world and the Catholic Church. Our anticipation is that these Scholars will be able to help bring the reflection and rediscovery of the faith to the CSU campus and the Colorado Community. The Aggiornamento Institute will instill in faculty and students full understanding that each can both live the Catholic Faith and achieve personal career objectives.

The Aggiornamento Institute was inspired by Pope Benedict XVI’s announcement of a Year of Faith. The name Aggiornamento was chosen for the Ministry for a couple of reasons. One is the inspiration of Blessed John XXIII, who in a 1959 speech named the pontifical program aggiornamento. The other is because of Pope Benedict XVI’s explanation of the word and its meaning. He said “'aggiornamento', does not mean breaking with tradition; rather, it is an expression of that tradition's ongoing vitality. It does not mean reducing the faith, debasing it to the fashion of the times using the yardstick of what we like and what appeals to public opinion. Quite the contrary, just as the Council Fathers did, we must mould the 'today' in which we live to the measure of Christianity. We must bring the 'today' of our times into line with the 'today' of God.”

The Aggiornamento Institute is a ministry of Ram Catholic and Blessed John XXIII University Parish. We boldly communicate to the faculty, staff, and students of Colorado State University the social, humanitarian, moral, and spiritual teachings of the Catholic Church. We accomplish this through a series of presentations by respected, Catholic intellectuals from around the world. 
 
The goal of the Aggiornamento Institute is to demonstrate how the Church engages the modern world and all areas of intellect.
